Can I test SpiroFit before purchasing?
Yes, you can test SpiroFit before buying. If you're interested in an online demo, simply contact us via our contact form. If you prefer to experience the SpiroFit in person, you currently have the opportunity to do so in Munich, Hannover, and Zurich. What distinguishes SpiroFit from spiroergomemetry systems?
SpiroFit is a compact and fully mobile performance analysis device. Unlike traditional spirometric systems, SpiroFit does not rely on stationary wiring or fixed systems such as ergometers and treadmills. This means you can use it flexibly anywhere, whether in training, on the running track, or even during competitions.
What performance metrics does SpiroFit measure?
SpiroFit precisely measures oxygen uptake (O₂), carbon dioxide output (CO₂), and minute ventilation (VE). With a connected chest strap, it also captures your heart rate (HR), while your smartphone transmits GPS data and your pace. Based on this data, SpiroFit calculates the following performance metrics:
- Energy expenditure (EE)
- Oxygen uptake (VO₂)
- Oxygen uptake per kilogram of body weight (VO₂/kg)
- Maximal oxygen uptake per kilogram of body weight (VO₂Max)
- Carbon dioxide output (VCO₂)
- Respiratory exchange ratio (RER)
- Breathing rate (RF)
- Tidal volume (TV)
How accurately does SpiroFit measure?
SpiroFit measures with the highest precision, ensuring a deviation of no more than 3% in volume values (ATS/ERS Standardisation Waveform 5). This allows you to rely on trustworthy data that accurately reflects your performance.
How is the calibration process carried out?
The sensors of the SpiroFit are precisely calibrated during manufacturing. Thanks to the latest sensor technology, no extensive calibration is required in everyday use. Calibration occurs automatically in the first 2 minutes of use while the device is at rest. This process is guided by the system, allowing you to start your performance test immediately afterward without needing any additional steps. Even during use, the device constantly recalibrates itself based on the oxygen content of the air.
Can I pair SpiroFit with my devices and sensors?
SpiroFit pairs effortlessly with your iPhone, allowing you to get started instantly. After training, the analyses can be viewed via browser on tablets, computers and other devices. We are constantly integrating more external devices and sensors.

SpiroFit is developed by Sendsor GmbH from Grafing near Munich, with its founder and Managing Director Dr Alexander Scholz as the driving force. Founded as a spin-off of the Technical University of Munich, the company has been researching and developing in the field of sensor technology and respiratory gas analysis for over 20 years. The tech company primarily supplies companies from the industrial and medical technology sectors with high-precision sensors.
